Turning Point is Dangerously Near
By Mickey Dunaway
Dear Family, Friends, Neighbors, Republicans, and Democrats, Liberals, and Conservatives, please read the following quote from former President Trump as quoted from The Morning Brew that I read with my morning coffee today, December 18, 2023.
Trump uses Nazi-era rhetoric to attack migrants. On the campaign trail in New Hampshire, former President Trump said migrants were “poisoning the blood of our country,” echoing words Adolf Hitler used in Mein Kampf, scholars said.
___________
YOU JUDGE. Here are Hitler’s words, as reported by The Rolling Stone:
In Mein Kampf, there are several passages where Hitler used the words “poison” and “blood” when attacking those he claimed to threaten the purity of the Aryan race, per The New York Times. In one of the many instances Hitler referenced those words in Mein Kampf, he wrote of the Jews: “He poisons the blood of others but preserves his own blood unadulterated.”

For those of you who believe that The Almighty is using Trump for Heaven’s work, consider this. If my God is inherently at His most basic core, only Love, He cannot then, by that nature, use evil for His purposes. You may disagree, and Sandy and I have had dozens of church people through the years tell us that we must be special parents if Adam, our disabled adult son, was sent to us by God. Really? God causes children to be disabled? Not in my view of the Almighty. Adam has done many remarkable things in his life, but God did not cause Adam to be disabled so that He could turn around and show His power. That is a flippant God. Not my God.
Neither does He use an immoral, debauched, profane, base individual who only seeks personal power.
I don’t have a clue in what direction I will vote in the next elections, but it cannot be for a Hitler paraphrasing praiser of the North Korean leader, “He’s not so fond of this administration. But he’s fond of me. And we had a very good relationship.” (Also from the Rolling Stone.)
Nor can I support the far left wing who, in their views, are as dangerous for our country as Mr. Trump and those on the very far right. Powerful visions are nothing without tangible strategies. For instance, Congress provided $7.5B for electric vehicle chargers. On December 15, 2023, the administration celebrated the opening of the first charging station in Ohio. This as auto manufacturers are cutting back on EV production because the public is souring on the concept due to its many problems.
___________
Niccolo Machiavelli—often despised—was, yet wise. He wrote: One who deceives will always find those who allow themselves to be deceived.
It seems that Machiavelli is describing the base of Donald Trump’s political power.

Please, good people. Rise—as our nation has risen in the direst of times in our history—with a resounding knowledge of the Almighty’s ways and His will. God has shown us another way to live with our fellow travelers on our planet. Let’s find it again, or perhaps for the first time, and move our country forward on the goodness His words and examples.

That government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

Thank you for your well thought out reflections based on historical fact. I’m reminded of George Santayana’s quote, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
